• The Process: Artisans mix black clay, lime, gum, and waste wheat chaff to create a thick resist paste.

• Natural Dyeing & Sun Drying: Sawdust is sprinkled over the damp mud to set it, after which the fabric is dipped into dye baths (often natural indigo or vegetable black). The mud blocks the dye, revealing contrasting crisp patterns when washed away.
